A reading schedule to complete the Qur'an before next Ramadan
We begin with Allah's name, seeking His help and His blessing. We praise Him and ask Him to send His peace and blessings on His Messenger, Muhammad ﷺ, and on his family and companions.
This "Shawwal to Sha'ban" program aims to help participants develop a habit of daily engagement with the Qur'an and gain a stronger attachment to Allah's Book. It is our hope that doing so will enable each participant to move to a deeper level of engagement with the Qur'an before next Ramadan.
Between Shawwal and Sha'ban, participants will complete 308 daily reading portions at a level of their choosing.
Ending February 6, 2027
If our hearts were pure, we could never get our fill of the Speech of our Lord. And as for me, I hate to let a day go by without reading from the mushaf.— ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān (al-Bidāyah w'al-Nihāyah 7/214)
I would be ashamed if I didn't look at my Lord's covenant at least once each day.— Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī (Jāmiʿ li-Aḥkām al-Qurʾān 1/28)
Adapted from the lesson divisions used in the tafsir Tawfīq al-Raḥmān by Sheikh Faisal Āl Mubārak (d. 1376 AH / 1957 CE). Each reading portion is centered around a cohesive passage with a shared theme.
Pick the engagement level that suits your current relationship with the Qur'an. You may advance or combine levels as the program progresses.
By completing these small daily reading portions, a person could complete the Qur'an before next Ramadan and develop a habit of daily engagement with Allah's Book.
A good translation is both Reliable — faithfully transmitting the messages of the Qur'an as understood by the salaf — and Readable — conveying those messages clearly.
Sheikh 'Abd al-Razzaq al-Badr said: "Something to aid in understanding the Qur'an is the books of tafsir which are relied on by the people of knowledge."

Guided to Islam in 2009, his journey with the Qur'an progressed from translation → reading the muṣḥaf → engagement through Tafsir ibn Kathir in English → learning Arabic to access the full library of tafsir works, which he now translates and shares on the Tulayhah website and social media channels.
It is my hope that each reader and program participant will likewise have an enriching and ongoing relationship with the Qur'an.
